Learning the Industry - Mae Powell

The Zoom H6 is an audio recording device. It has 6 channels. Theres L and R which are acssesible via  the attachmets for the top and the other 4 via XLR. The H6 has a pre-record funtion installed in, so that you never miss a second. It can also record in two different basic file types, WAV. and Mp3. The Zoom H6 is ideal for small productions because it is small and light wieght. Its also easily portable. The video below depicts all the fuctions of a zoom as well as the several attachments you can buy for it.

Before we even came to edit the film, the group and I knew that we wanted to use as little title cards as possible because we knew that with the foootage we had collated would drive the narrative on its own. We would onlu use them to introduce certain sections of the film, such as "and then things got complicated" to highlight that this is where the conspiracy element is injected. They are also used when doing comparasions between the "old" and "new" Avril. This is because w e knew and wanted the story to speak for itself and for the audience to become fully invested in the film and not the text on the screen.  The feedback we had gotten of other students was positive and they felt like the film had a clear and understanderble narrative. After deciding that Arvil Lavigne was going to our topic for the conspiracy videos, it was time to do more indepth reaserch. We looked at multiple fan blogs, youtube videos and even new report that were made on the subject, and complied it into a doctument title how and why is it a conspiracy theory. What is Film Grammer? Film grammer is defined as the following:  A frame is a single still image, which is equal to a single letter in a word. A shot is a single continuous recording, which is equal to a word. A scene is a series of related shots, and is equal to a sentance. A squence is a series of scenes put together, and is equal to a paragraph. Within film grammer we also have the definitions for different types of shots and angles used in filming.

In the film industry there are hundreds of different rols to go into. I will be name the vital roles and describing what the role intails. Film Director: They oversee all aspects of the creative process. It also involes managing budgets, department meeting, involment in all stages of filming and communication visions effectivly Director of Photography: Also known as Cinematographer, the DOP works alongside Film Directors  to realise films. A DOP will manage both camera and lighting crews on set . Thet are expected to have a deep understanding of cameras and lighting for a technical stand point. Producer: A producer is usually only involved with the paperwork side of the film project, however on smaller set the producer will oversee the whole creative process much like a director. They are expected to take control of the production and are incharge of getting a budget in place and organising the shoots. Editing the sound and visual The week before the hand in was spent editing in the sound affects from the previous weeks, as well as editing the footage some more. Some of the footage was reversed and slowed down and the sound affects were added to emphasise some of the footage. We had a lot of issues with editing due to technical errors. We had started the editing on windows and proceeded to try and edit on a mac but for some reason we couldnt figure out why it wouldnt work. After about 30 minutes we switched over to a windows pc and it started working again. The final edit I am very proud of my contributions to this project. I have taken on a lot of the editing for this project and I am proud of the shots that I have put in.
