Craft Skills - Monday 24th of September


For craft skills we got split in to 4 different groups. I was sorted into group D. The whole point of craft skills is to practice with the tech from the TI's.

How to slate:


Rules of Slatting:
  1. Always be positive
  2. Be professional and on time
  3. Be polite
  4. Listen
  5. Ask if you dont know
  6. Remember the chain of comand. Actors, directors and head of departments
  7. Be prepared for the weather
  8. Never say cut or action unless told so
  9. Always look busy - dont sit around
  10. Take lead from HOD
  11. Do not touch any gear that is not in your jurisdiction
  12. Apperance - turn up clean
  13. Own up to mistakes
  14. Saftey first
  15. Dont mess with the director
  16. Call the actors by there name not there characters
  17. Dont mess around with set radios
  18. Read the call sheets
  19. Be flexible and ready to work over time
  20. Be calm and collected
  21. Soak up everything and learn
  22. Stay out of the actors eyeline during takes.
Why do we use the rule of thirds? 
We use the rule of thirds because it makes the composition of the shot more pleasing to look at. When composing a shot we need to think about the mise-en-scene, so the arrangment of everything in the shot, as well as the foreground, midground and background.
